Festival timetable

2019:

The 2019 theme, chosen by the local school, is “Evolution: Extinct, Endangered, Existing”

Saturday 27th April – Monday 6th May 2019:

Saturday 27th April 2019:

  • 10k Road Race – open to all runners 15 years and older, starting ~1.15pm near Bobbin Mill *

Sunday 28th April 2019:

Monday 29th April – Friday 3rd May 2019:

Thursday 2nd May 2019:

  • Funfair starts (usually) – continues over the Bank Holiday weekend *
  • Classic Bike Night (at Bridge House Farm Tearooms from ~7pm)

Friday 3rd May 2019:

  • Giant Scarecrow Parade – starts Gars End ~6.30pm, ends at Bridge House Farm Tearooms at ~7pm
  • The Parade will be led by Batala Samba Reggae Band
  • Music will also be provided by DJ AMP and some special guests
  • Prize presentations and party with local bands, food and drink ~7pm onwards

Saturday 4th May 2019:

  • Music at the Bridge House Farm Tearooms featuring local acts
  • And … lots and lots of scarecrows

Sunday 5th May 2019:

  • Football coaching session and early competition rounds (entries closed) *** NEW ***
  • Music at the Bridge House Farm Tearooms featuring local acts and DJ AMP
  • And … lots and lots of scarecrows

Monday 6th May 2019:

  • Wray School’s maypole dancing (and more) ~1.30pm *

Thursday 3rd May 2018:

  • Funfair starts – continues over the weekend *

Friday 4th May 2018:

  • BBC Radio Lancashire will broadcast live from the Wray Institute (10am to 12 noon)
  • Giant Scarecrow Parade – starts Gars End ~6.30pm
  • Guinness World Record attempt: “Largest gathering of people dressed as scarecrows”
  • Parade ends at Bridge House Farm Tearooms
  • Music by “Blast Furness”
  • Prize presentations and party with local bands, food and drink ~7pm onwards

Saturday 5th May 2018:

  • Music at the Bridge House Farm Tearooms
  • And … lots and lots of scarecrows

Sunday 6th May 2018:

  • Soap Box Derby – near Bobbin Mill from ~12 noon
  • Ball Race – near Flood Gardens after Soap Box Derby ~4pm
  • Busk Stop (buskers at the flood gardens on Main Street)
  • Vintage Vehicles – at Bridge House Farm tearooms *
  • Vintage Fair – at Bridge House Farm tearooms *

Monday 7th May 2018:

  • Fell race – starts at the Institute ~11.30am *
  • Wray Fair – from ~11am to ~4pm on school fields

Note that there will be no Car Boot Sale this year!
